Glenshooter Posted October 11, 2009 Report Share Posted October 11, 2009 I know it's not an absolute must, but I want to lock up my shotgun cartridges. Too many kids running about. What does anyone recommend? I'd like a cabinet/safe big enough to hold multiple boxes of 250 and as we use several different kinds, a movable shelf would be handy as well. Had thought of getting an extra gun cabinet but all the measurements are for the outside dimensions and sometimes the thickness of the door in particular can cause problems. Thanks Mr Apache Bought a two drawer Bisley filing cabinet but it couldn't handle the weight of more than one box of 250 before the bearing and runners folded!!! PaulABF Posted October 12, 2009 Report Share Posted October 12, 2009 Some army surplus stpores sell old ammunition containers. An ideal size is the one that 105mm cart cases come in. Big enough to store what you want and more. The metal is strong enough to protect but thin enough to drill to enable security and fit a lock clasp.
