Sprinter
Set up again today in the same spot. Weather not looking at all promising but hey-ho i thought i'd give it a go. Wind slightly different today so rotor set up slightly to the left of the hide and an elongated U pattern of plastics in front of the hide. Was good today, remembered the woodies for the rotor - forgot the face mask and gloves - D'oh! As soon as i sat down it started to hiss it down with rain, so i sat huddled as best i could under a hawthorn bush at the back of the hide only moving when anything looked promising. Unfortunately i was constantly bothered by half a dozen ferals causing me to get wet every time they came in. After a few such occurances i dusted the leader and tailed one of the others - they got the message. After an hour or so of no activity the rain packed up and birds started to appear. I was somewhat off form for a start, couldn't get comfy and was worried about my pale fizzog peering above the hide. This meant i spent a lot of time peering through the hide and trying to judge when birds were near enough to shoot. This wasn't working too well as i was either up way to early or trying to waft them off the end of my gun. Anyway after a steady stream of bang bang sod-its i gave myself a talking to general gist being to buck my ideas up - or else! The steady trickle of birds continued, although very wary, and my form improved taking several left/rights but sadly unable to repeat my two for one tricks of yesterday. After about 4 hours it all dried up. Collected 46 and a crow for 85 shots 1.8:1 not too bad considering the awful start.

Nice shooting mate Thanks, i'm very fortunate to get these as it is pretty much the only field on the estate that i can shoot that is far enough away from the pheasants.
