STILL WAITING FOR NEW GUNS FROM SPORTSMAN GUN CENTRE

Recommended Posts

I've bought in the shop & never had a problem. I also rang up & ordered some more shirts the day after I bought one in the shop and they turned up fine. I also had 12 deeks from them over the phone off the magazine advert and again no problem. I've never ordered something which they did not have in stock though.

I can to some point agree that people often only talk about things when they're not happy. The Sportsman do seem to have more than their fair share of issues. Every time I've been there they do something I don't like!

1. My reloading kit. Ordered in maybe May? Still not sent the complete order.

2. Ordered a gun lamp, a gun rest and cleaning kit. I got the lamp, then the rest, poor excuses over the cleaning kit so got a refund after a couple of months.

3. The worst one! Phoned up regarding reloading and cleaning kit for my .375H&H. I wanted cases, dies, cheap FMJ bullets. The whole lot to load for the calibre. "That's fine" was the answer on the phone, "we have it all in stock now". "So I can come over and get then in an hour?" I asked. "No problem" was the salesmans reply. So I got there (an hours drive!) and guess what... Dies were there but no shell holder, cases were there but no FMJ bullets, They had a mop but no jag or bronze brush. I decided I'd buy what they had as I'd travelled so far, the worst being tungsten core solid bullets @ £1.20 each! Got to the counter and guess what..... "We need to enter the bullets on your FAC sir". "Umm, no you don't, they're not expanding and I haven't brought it with me". "I'll get the managed sir"! Well, twenty minutes and some phone calls later I got my bullets, no apology for their stupid staff though. If I know that a non expanding round isn't a controlled item then they certainly should. What a bunch of muppets!

I don't plan to shop there again. I expect some mishaps sometimes but not like this. My local shop has messed me about a little with things I've ordered too, but there's a big difference. Often with the Sportsman it's the supplier just as it is with my local guy. The difference is my local shop keeps me informed. He won't say he has something when he doesn't and if it's not in yet he'll give me a call to tell me. It's not hard is it? That last treck to the Sportsman after being told they had all I wanted in stock was the last straw. How hard would it have been to go and look to check the stuff was there? They knew I had a long way to travel so I expect more. It's just poor service!
