shooting on RAPE

This has most likely been asked before so i will apologise first if im wasting your time ???

 

This is my first year pigeon shooting the question is :-

 

some of the fields i can shoot (rape) have been cut today they should be finished by friday when is the best time to shoot them :o :o should i go as soon as they have finished or will it be better to wait for a couple of days advise please, :D :(

Pigeon shooting is mostly about watching and seeing. Once a field is cut keep an eye on it. The birds will take a day or two to build up numbers then shoot it. If you do so too early the birds won't build up and if you do so too late the birds will be leaving. Right place, right time. Generally speaking that is 'cause as we all know you never know where pigeons are concerned :o

just keep an eye on them if you can, let the birds get in for a day or so then rattle into them and fill your boots......

 

I think personally an afternoon flight is best but you should have success anytime if they know where to come.

 

 

Don't worry about asking questions that have been on here before.....how else can you learn?
