sooty 54
Iwould suspect a loose connection on the circuit breaker that is buzzing .But you really need a qualified electrician to look at it .It may cost you if you don't know one , but will be cheaper ,and better than a possible fire . Hope this helps and isn't to worrying for you .
Mattw
make sure your ring is wired to a 32A breaker  I think you may get more of a buzz than you bargained for!
mysecretlife
Any installation should be done to BS 7671 (i.e 17th edition). Approved document Part P of the building regulations says that works in 'special places' such as bathrooms and kitchen should be done by a 'competent' person and an installation cert issued or inspected and signed off by your local building control for a fee

peter-peter
turn of the power to the ringmain take all the socket box tops of and tighten up all the connections including the mcb connections it sounds like you have a loose wire which will up the amperage to over the mcb limit. 16 amps. failing this working ring up your local sparks. ME
There was a loose wire in the fuseboard and the MCB amperage wasnt big enough for the ring - which included the emersion heater. The spark checked all the circuit, all the sockets, fuseboard etc and all is now well. Thanks for the suggestions chaps

HW682
Did he give you any paperwork, in particular any form of Certificate? Possibly a Minor Works Certificate or Electrical Installation Certificate? HW682
ads03ads
I agree with Hw682, the work should have had a minor works certificte issued!!! Was he part P registered or was it a quick cash job wink wink nudge nudge!!! The imersion in an ideal world should be on its own radial circuit also. All the best and I hope all is fixed ads
