mickmep
hi all. found a cheap shotgun that i fancy and would like your input / understanding on the following regarding rfd transfer. i know you can take your shotgun to your local rfd and get them to send it via courrier to another rfd. but.........have also heard you can arrange courrier (i believe its dhl but please correct me) to collect a shotgun from yourself and send it to rfd of the purchaser, therefore only 1 rfd charge (for accepting the gun). is this correct ? if it is who signs the certificate of the seller ? would i be able to call the seller and give then my cert number etc. or email a scanned image of it for their records. talking about a private sale, not bought from a dealer. has anyone done this ? thanks mick. Cranfield
I have only ever transferred a gun RFD to RFD. A quick telephone call to the Courier should answer your question. There are a few on here I am sure would like to know the answer.
