Muntjac calls

I was reading in the basc mag about using a call for muntjacs , which sometimes give good results , I have tried looking for a muntjac call but i have not found one yet does anyone have one or know of a link of where to find them ? Also do they work well?

They are probably using a roe call like a Buttolo, the muntjac often react to them surprisingly well. You make a slightly more urgent, stronger squeak than with roe and the muntjac often come to investigate. If you also stalk roe on your ground though you should watch that you don't overdo it around the rut or the roe can become wary.

Does it work all year round?

 

I know they are likely to mate all year round, so i suppose it should do. I was advised to try a cherry wood call but never got round to buying one, I just used my buttalo during the roe rut. We have munties round here, but I have been unable to call one yet. I will keep trying though.
