activeviii
I thought my pup just had itchy paws so i started watch where he was going. in the warmer months he was fine but now with the wet grass i started to watch more. i first thought it was just itchy but after a few times i notice it was the left overs of stinging nettles. they seam to sting harder this time of year put as the paws were wet it let the hairs stick together so the nettle could get though. but as the feet were wet it didnt worry him until he got home and started to dry out..............then all hell brakes loose. running all over the house scuffing at the floor, rubbing his chin on the carpet. panting like a train. it was stinging nettles casing it. you can get antihistamine cream you can rub on, the pups breeder has been using it for a long time with no problems. she says it will only last a few years as the dog hardens up after a bit. tbox
My dog had a similar thing a few weeks back. kept lying down and chewing intensely at his pads. I kept washing them in warm water with a bit of tcp in it (twice a day). seemed to clear up ok. Good luck!

Slug
Use Malaseb it's a good all round product for these problems, this requires a purchase from the vet or a prescription and then you can buy online.. http://www.viovet.co.uk/p126/Malaseb_Shamp...oduct_info.html
mez75
If any of my dogs are nettled I use piriton (not piriteze) tablets, it soon stops the itching, also usefull incase of insect bites/stings.
