fallowbuck
Good guns but maybe slightly over priced? No offence but that doesn't look like the original finish on the stock?AYA'S normally have a duller traditional oil type finish?Just doesn't look right on that particular mark. adrian91
Thanks, your all I need The gun would retail at £1100 in a gun shop because I've seen a few of them over recent years and the stock has never been touched, your not buying so why comment!! Cumbrian
I think the varnished/laquer finish is pretty typical of AyAs of that vintage. Same as on my no.4 boxlock. And it's a tough finish, too.
fallowbuck
Well I always expected the better sidelock guns made by AYA to be oiled.Wasn't expecting lacquer on a gun of that quality. Also the stock is amazingly good for any shotgun of that era, so if it hasn't been refinished its been very well looked after. If its as good as you say I'm sure someone will snap it up.It was a genuine comment ,as we do like to help each other here.
