BlaserF3
Was it declared at customs? Proof needs only to be done if it's going to be resold.
pigeonshooter76
he told cutoms when he got back but bagage handlers put it on carrasouel when it got back but it was in a safe hold on the plane from turkey
BlaserF3
He really needs to do something as it will not have been entered on his SGC and customs will want the duty due. Read this http://basc.dotadmin.com/media/transhipment_of_firearms.pdf Could possibly be in the **** also for illegally importing a shotgun. chuck
He needs a import licence.
MPT1
I don't blieve that an import licence is required for goods purchased for own use. If that were the case cigs, booze and perfume etc. would as well. With regard to duty, it's your duty to avoid it if possible.
BlaserF3
You do not need an import licence, but you do need customs at the port of entry to fill the details of the gun in your SGC. At the moment the "mate" is in possession of an illegal gun and could go to jail. Regarding duty we are not talking about 200 fags
MPT1
No, if it were 200 fags it would be a different forum.
al4x
Ignore the duty issue as thats very different to having it on your ticket, In theory if he has a ticket and its written on it and he informed his local licensing authority when he got back he may be ok. Generally they can be sensible and obviously prefer guns to be on a license he did present it and his license at customs but they didn't enter it on his ticket so in theory they are at fault
