Royboy
Pigeons fly over my permission about 8:15 and last until about 8:45. they come over in bunches and pairs but i need a good wind to keep them low. would it be worth placing decoys on the field or in the trees to attract them or will they just carry on to the place there feeding ? cheers
Cosd
You won't know unless you try? This time of year, I'd put out as many decoys as you can get your hands on, 30 or so won't be too many in my view. Put out a pattern in the field, and if you can get some in the trees as well that would be good. Many of the woodies will ignore them if they are on a mission to get to their feeding ground but you never know, you might get some sport. I'd probably try some movement in there too, like bouncers, rotary, flapper etc. Get as close to the flightline as possible, a windy day would be best as they'll fly lower and possibly in range. You have nothing to lose except half an hour!! Let us know how you get on, would be interesting. Edited December 14, 2009 by Cosd
stubby
my permission has no feeding crop, its just smack bang in the middle of a flightline, I tend to place decoys and a magnet around and on the maure pile, brings birds down everytime,
