pigeon controller
I was called out in the week due to thousands on the rape as the farmer stated. When I arrived on the field about sixty flew away. I stayed for about four hours and ended up with 54 before it just stopped. In the area there are at least ten rape fields to chose from Went out with DB on saturday following another phone call and scanned the field only to see that the flight line was on another farm. Went to the the new farm a obtained premission and set up by a wood. The birds were spooky and would not decoy well but it gave us some great shooting. After two hours I went for adrive to see if I could see where the birds had moved on to.? I went on a twenty mile circuit and no birds could be found but we ended up with 88 in the picture and the dog found two more after. Just as we were packing up I received a call from another farm and we agreed to go on Sunday Sunday was bright and sunny and we checked twelve fields on the this farm and the only field they were on is about twelve acres with roads on two sides and houses on the other two. to shoot safely we had to shoot into the sun. There was a clay shoot which was spooking birds to us from the one way and bangers on another farms fields which gave us some good sport. When the clay shoot stopped the birds dried up so I went for a drive round the farm, none to be found. We then heard some rifle shots on the farm behind us and it sent at least three hundred birds over our heads. We ended the day with 148. I just think the volume of Rape around this year is going to make it difficult to keep birds coming back to decoys.
