DaveB916
Hi, Just reading the shooting times and found a pic of my wife and son in there, page 47. Slight mistake is that Luckyard Farm is not in West Yorks but on Exmoor, google it, a good place to go. Dave B
Fatcatsplat
Have looked at it a couple of times as its a nice neck of the woods - Quite fancy it for the family for the "farm experience" - What's the rough shooting like?
DaveB916
Its a good place for whatever you want to do, clays, rough shooting, game in season or fishing. Some good local pubs for food or just cook local produce 'at home'. 20 mins to Minehead/Butlins for the kids and a good few gun shops for dad, Minehead and Exeter....lol My son enjoyed looking after the chickens so much, he got a coop and run for Christmas. NICK76
Ummm, Myself, Unclemicky and another friend, Dave went to Luckyard in September. Wasn't quite what we were expecting, the rough shooting on Carlton's farm was poor at best. Totally bereft of wildlife, however on the second day he took us up to a friends farm around 1.5 miles away and we had some fair corvid/pigeon sport, and did the same on our 3rd and last day. The acommodation price was very reasonable, but the bunk house where we stayed was filthy, dont get me wrong we can rough it with the best of them, but around 100 dead flies on unclemickys bed was one thing, but to find a whole lot more actually under the blanket was something else. I know it's a farm, but a little bit of cleaning before guests arrive wouldn't have gone a miss. That said Carlton and his family are nice people and the location is stunning, but be warned, his farm is on a very steep hill, not easy shooting ground if you do see something to shoot. There is no rabbits on his land, but we did see some signs of rabbit activity on his friends land, unfortuantley on our last day. Overall, we had a good weekend and a good laugh, it's a shame that it took us until over halfway through our weekend before we got some sport and the acommodation should have been a lot cleaner. We would NOT go back though, and we are looking at somewhere in scotland for this year's trip. Genuinely glad that other people have had a better experience than what we did.
