activeviii
go to the library and ask what they can get, then look though them all and pick one that suits you. i got dvd's and books and i knew nothing, still dont really, but one thing i noticed was all the trainers contradicted each other and confused me big time. i found a guy local that seamed to know his stuff and was a great help to me. so i would say to try and find someone local to you that can see the pup and help you out. Your cocker is the same ages as my boy. 25th oct mine was born. atb Phil.

Starman
I see there are other Joe Irving titles that are not Spaniel specific. I would like to start training my retriever who is a year old but probably wont do much with my Spaniel who is seven. Is there a lot of differences between breeds when it comes to training techniques? I assume the basic principles would be the same.
