Hi,

 

I have spent most of today knocking on the doors of most local farms around Baldock and North Herts looking for some land for some pest shooting. Everyone I spoke to was extremely nice, however it seems that most of the land is already shot on and is tightly controlled.

 

I will continue with my search tomorrow and also speak to the local gun shops, however if anyone could give me any advice or an idea of who else to contact, then that would be greatly appreciated.

There are no shortage of driven shoots in Herts. It's a bit late in the season, but you should offer your help as a beater or picker up (if you have a good working dog). Unfortunately you will find it very hard to pick up land to shoot on if you don't offer some help in return.

 

Farmers and landowners will generally only allow shooters who they know and trust on their land, so it'll be worth trying to build trust up in the local landowners.
