12guage Posted January 4, 2010 Report Share Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) Sorry typed the title wrong it 5 not 4 over excited it think Went out this afternoon at about 2:30 thought do i take the 4/10 with me as there was not alot of time left for shooting before it got dark, or so i thought anyway proceeded along our usual route and was chatting and making alot more noise than usual didnt really expect to shoot at anything then spotted a dray, one i hadnt seen before so the other guy loaded up a 2" shell and proceeded to let it rip into the dray......... what happened next you will not beleive but the picture below will prove me telling the truth .... 6 yes 6 squirrels shot out of the same dray and proceeded to run in all directions think they might have been keeping warm together, to say the least all hell broke loose as 2 of us where carrying 4/10s and the third was carrying a 12g .... had my first left and right today so well happy the guy with the 12g had another one which was out of my reach and after a bit of scrabbling about for more shells the other 4/10 shooter got another 2 5 out of 6 aint bad sorry about the fuzzy piccy but my camera phone is cr** they are head to tail on the log at my side. I've seen countless birds (including various speicies of owl) reside in them, and you'll never know what will drop out. Use some lofting poles and 'poke them' (the dreys) when the squirrels bolt, shoot them. It's good sport, too.
