JJaxeman
Hi I myself have a Logun S16 PCP in 22 and as far as pumping the rifle up via a Hills stirrup pump (off E-Bay second hand for only £65.00) I don't have problem with it. Its not that hard as people say and its free and readily available at any time to top up your rifle when you se fit.I can fill my rifle which has a 400cc bottle from empty in about 15-20 mins taking it easy . Good Luck Jas Edited September 11, 2005 by JJaxeman
wacker
I'd go for one in .177, i've been hunting with this calibre for a long time, you will hear people say that .22 is the only way to go but the little pellet flies a lot flatter & extend your killing range out to 35 yards. I've shot rabbits, rooks, magpies & pigeons with the .177 with no problems at all. Don't get me wrong, .22 has it's place & is great for rats etc. Pump wise, if choose one make sure you get a moisture trap to go with it, you wouldn't want your new gun to run the risk of going rusty inside! If precharged is your thing then spend an extra £100 & go for a 12litre 300bar tank costs about £3 to top up & will last ages. Hope this helps.
roblade
Hi mate, just sent you email saying think the S400 would be a better rifle for you than the career LOL (BEFORE i read this post!) try as i might i cant think of anything bad to say about this little rifle i fill the career to about 230-250bar and a 380cc resevoir, using the webley pump, takes about 15 mins but thats taking it easy two min break every 50 pumps (50 bar) basic rule of thumb when using a pump every shot you take is one pump back into the rifle. I think it makes a pretty big difference depending on what pump you use some pumps are a bit eaier to use than others, the webley is the only one i have used but others using it have said its probably one of the best out there. as for the .177 or .22 its totaly personal preference. niether is better than the other, though .22 is soooo last year LOL ROB
blackthorn
i own a aa 400k i cant fault the rifle. i use a Logan pump no problems pumping. as for caliber that's your choice. for years i used a22 then i changed to 177 and i never changed back. both calibers do the deed Edited September 11, 2005 by blackthorn687

Axe
Hi Mr Jack, From all accounts the the rifle is a good one and you certainly wont regret it. As for the calibre well, as people have said its personal preference. My preference would be .22 and for these reasons. Firstly, I beleive the .22 is better for live targets from the larger pellet causing more damage. You do get a flatter trajectory with .177 but since you have to learn your hold over either way, i'd stick with the .22. Range is not an issue, I consitently get 50yard head shots with my S16 and the rabbits drop instantly. Finally, if you go with the .22 in your PCP, you will get more shots per fill. Something that may well prove inportant when your out in the field. Regards, Axe.
SNAKEBITE
I am not going to get into the calibre "arguement" again but in my opinion................. ................................................................................ .......................................... Please fill in the blanks!
blackthorn
you will get 70 shots out of a fill in 177 aa 400k-410k moor than Eng on a hunting trip. axe me man why do you need all them shots sounds like your having a little play out there as well as once said dead is dead 22 or 177 i have shot both and they do the same job KILL  Edited September 12, 2005 by blackthorn687
Axe
axe me man why do you need all them shots sounds like your having a little play out there as well  Because I get alot of rabbits and because i'm a lazy ****** who cant be bothered with all that pumping £2 gets me a full charge at my local shop and I get to drool all over those nice FAC rifles at the same time. Regards, Axe.
blackthorn
axe you don't need them fac rifles. sounds like your doing fine with what you've got 50yds is some good shooting . thought about extending it another 10 yards on a still day. still enuf power for a head shot :( Edited September 12, 2005 by blackthorn687
Axe
Yeah I am quite surprised how well my 12lb shooting has done. But the FAC is simply the next progression. I wont be getting rid of the 12lb'er though, each rifle has its place in the field. And you certainly cant do a fox with a .22 12ft/lb rifle. :( Im looking forward to the greater ranges and capability of the .22LR and .17HMR. Regards, Axe. blackthorn
axe changed me mind go for the fac fair play to ya thought you was on about fac air rifles :*) the .17hmr sounds about rite. herd it is a cracking caliber me mates on about us going for a fac for long range rabbits and its the .17hmr were thinking about. best of it when we go lamping he just likes to watch me shoot he thinks i am the dogs gonads with a air rifle. put a shotgun in me hands and i mite as well throw it at them :(
Axe
Don't discount the .22LR Blackthorn it is a truly versatile rifle. I have spent the last 5 weeks going out 2-3 times with Sussex Lad and his 'toys', it has been truly inspiring. The .22LR is a fantastic rifle offering a wide variety of shots and uses. Though he mainly runs subs through it, I have seen him take headshots out to 100 yards with the rifle scoped at 60. Being carbine, its also very light and agile, definitely one for the collection. The .17HMR is slightly different but provides very accurate shooting out to 200 yards. Its also considerably heavier. The only problem is that they are also considerably louder! And maintenance wise well i've been told you need to pull the barrel through every 20 shots, unlike the .22LR subs that probably need it once every 500 rounds! After seeing these in action, I defy anyone not to consider the FAC route. Regards, Axe. :( Edited September 13, 2005 by Axe
