Ozzy Fudd
two quick questions, hoping someone can help if possible i want to make sure i have the right width of scope mounts to fit on my 917 when/if the licence ever arrives, dont want to get the gun and have to wait a couple of weeks to get scope mounts to fit it looking at the website it says the gun comes with bolt on weaver mounts, but the receiver is also grooved to accept scope mounts; its quite a heavy scope ill be fitting so i reckon mounting it direct to the receiver would be the best bet. all i can find so far is that the receiver is grooved to accept "dovetail" and "tip off type 22 scope bases", but i cant find what width they are - 11mm, 20mm? does anyone know? secondly, would a one piece scope mount affect ejection of spent cases? heres a pic of the gun - http://www.marlinfirearms.com/Firearms/17HMRMagnum/917v.asp - you can see the ejection port is right between the two scope mounts on that scope. a one piece base might be more stable but dont want it getting in the way thanks Edited January 10, 2010 by babbyc1000

Ozzy Fudd
cheers, just thought it might be better for a heavier scope and a thinner grip, never used them before myself
harv
yo babby, just measured my vsf action and the dovetail is 11mm. the two piece mounts supplied by marlin are good quality and havnt moved since fitted, i also have a heavy scope and the .17 is practically recoiless. a one piece mount would block approx 50% of the ejection port so is a no go cheers harv
