Peter De La Mare
I'm in Oxford this week and want to try out any Sporting grounds in the area. Any recommendations? Looking for good testing targets rather than end of barrel floppers. I see that Owls Lodge isn't far, has anyone tried it yet? It appears that there's only a Compaq layout on offer in Sporting terms, is that right and is it any good? Appreciate any advice

MC
Pete, I'd have thought after recent form you need plenty of practice at end of barrel floppers
Peter De La Mare
Yes, you're right, seeing as the stand I messed up at HL was exactly that! Anyway, after much research we're doing the EJ Churchill Challenge. It's right off the M40 on the way there/back and only £35. Peter De La Mare
Poor day. 75/100. Was doing ok until one stand where you shoot from a hole....didn't like that stand..... didn't have a single pair without huge trigger freeze or spasm.... 8 dropped there. Gutted Overall highgun is only 88/100 so far. The trip beforehand was interesting. Involved slogging through central London at rush hour, through Oxford during school run, and stuck halfway down sheet ice laden road nr Churchill's and taking over an hour to push car back up the hill, as the 1:10 slope and the end wasn't navigable in our car.... had to stick it in the hedgerow as it slide down of it's own accord. So missed first time slot.... etc etc.

Will have to try again now they seem to have entered the real world price wise, they were charging £58 + carts + tip last year for 100ESP. Especially as it's only 20 mins from here. Jon.
