Cranfield
I was driven past a Tesco and Asda garage today and there were queues outside both. No shortages..........................just 5p per litre off yesterdays prices. I wonder how the people that queued last night, to top up their tanks at the old price, feel today. Axe
I should imagine they feel lighter in the pocket!
SNAKEBITE
I did predict a "token gesture" cut and it looks like we have got it. 5p is really sod all (although I am grateful) if you have a 50 litre tank and fill it from empty it will cost you £47.50p rather than £50.00 if the price dropped to 95p from £1. Not a lot is it? If you fill up once a week (50l) then you save £130 a year. A fair bit I grant you but it would still cost you £2470 a year on fuel!!! It is all psychological.................... and we always fall for it.
Cranfield
The reduction is at the initiative of the Retailers, not the Government. Other Garages around here are still selling at the higher prices.
SNAKEBITE
Perhaps I'm just too old and cynical Sorry Cranfield.

Sergeant
My solution is get a Bike, even in deepest darkest wales it only takes an hour to do 10 miles! Think of all the dosh you could save if you made all those short journeys by bike, an you get fit at the same time!
