  1. Ive got one, It throws singles quite well and can do 2 stacked on top of each other but very much lower and slower. The hinge pin on mine broke off after a while but since it was steel I just welded it back on. Tom.
  2. Not 100% sure what disco yours is from your description but assuming its a 300tdi then yes. If its a disco 3 then no! Tom.
  3. Hi, Ive owned it from new, 4 years now and ive been careful not to let it get too hot to touch. Its only had about 300 rounds through it but I havnt noticed a drop in accuracy. Tom.
  4. Evening all, Whilst cleaning my .243 today I looked down the barrel and noticed what appear to be two cracks. They are about 5 and 6 inches in from the muzzle at 12 and 1 o'clock perpendicular to the rifling, the largest it about 2 mm long and centered on its rifling groove. Theres nothing visible on the outside. Ill be taking it to a gunsmith before I use it again but what do you think so im fore warned, will it be a re barrel job? TIA, Tom.
  5. Hi, Im running on about 70% rape oil at the minute, I havnt been doing it long but in the 1k miles so far theres been no problems, not even a filter blockage. Its a Musso 2.9td.
  6. I run my daewoo musso on it, im on 50/50 at the minute and it just judders a bit on start up on a cold day.
  7. Autorotation only works if one has enough height or forward speed. Generally if its in the hover then theres not much hope. Also the pilot could have misjudged the autorotation and missed his chosen spot, im assuming it would have been the road or river nearby.
  8. I have heard / read that the pilot had 20 mins fuel remaining, which to me would mean they should have been on the ground long before they got that low. It could quite possibly have been a gauging error and If it ran the selected tank dry then yes, he would have had an engine failure! They must have suspicions if they have grounded the fleet.
  9. I find that hard to believe, im practially falling over them round here theres so many. Tom.
  10. Hi Scotslad, I spent ages on google, with Mother comparing the two species, but we couldnt agree which it was out of fallow and roe. Im on stand down again tomorrow so will be taking my camera and hopefullt try to get a decent shot if it shows up. Tom.
  11. Interesting, Im back at work now so will have to hope its still around by the end of this rotation so I can get a better look. From what your saying it seems strange that it would choose that field, which is the worst one for grazing with plenty of other better unoccupied pastures around the main wood. Thanks, Tom.
  12. Hi Kes, About 400 / 500 meters away, I think its a roe based on antlers, but Mum recons fallow based on its rear end colouring, black line / tail on white. No there isnt a deer farm that I know of, but a stately home about 10 miles away apparently has fallow. Would they move that far? Tom
  13. Evening all, Over the last couple of days I've spotted a solitary Deer grazing amongst our neighbors cows on a bank near our house that is half pasture half woodland. It has antlers which I believe makes it a buck, but we cant agree whether its a Roe or a Fallow. So the question is where might it have come from, theres never been deer round here, and why is it on its own, are there likely to be more? TIA, Tom.
  14. Hi, Im not quite as qualified as parapilot, but im Pilot rated, Tandem and paramotor with a few hundred hours now. Its a great sport, dont be put off too much by the accident stories, for the majority it is very safe but like any airsport it can bite the unwary. As your just deciding where to start try and think where you want to go with the sport, is it just a couple of hours soaring on a local hill, the challenge of a long cross country flight to somwhere, or if you want convenient reliable cross countrys, local takeoff sites and slightly bigger weather window (you can do it it nil wind) then maybe consider paramotoring. Since I started pramotoring ive almost doubled my average annual airtime simply by being able to grab a quick hour after work. HTH Tom.
  15. Cheers chaps, I hope its not injectors, sounds like they may be nearly as much as the cars worth! Would some Redex / injector cleaner help in the short term do you think? Will double check the pipes but I dont think there would be a split in the HP side as theres no clagging. Cheers, Tom.
