lanber1088
Hi all, thinking of up rating to a center fire for the foxes, I have a 22lr and .17hmr at moment excellent for rabbits but need something with a bit more stopping power, what would you suggest 222 or 223 or 243 ? also what is the difference in price for the ammo. Thanks. Regards Lanber.
bobby b
I would go for either .22-250 or .243 it depends on if you ever want to shoot deer in the future as for ammo prices theres not much in it really i pay £25 for 20 .243 norma 75gr v-max and .22-250 is very near the same. steve_b_wales
If it's just for fox, get a 22-250. You can also get a .243 for fox, and then, if you wish, add deer onto your ticket in the future. That's what I did with mine. Ammunition varies in price. You could get away with using PRVI Partizan ammo; I use it in both 22-250 & .243, and it's okay. Why don't you try reloading your own ammo. It's not that difficult, and I can load a .243 round, that's suited specifically for my rifle, for about 48p. Same with the 22-250. Hope this helps. Steve.
