after sitting in a field and watching 200-300 birds fly over, with no wind to move the "rotating "wings on decoys and most either too high when above or to far left and right,i think i may need more "movement" in the decoy pattern, to pull them down,i've looked at the website but can't,through in experience decide that if I need a magnet and if I do which set up to buy.what do you all think is a good produict???,after watching video's it looks like a few static flocked decoy's is not enough.

Though decoying at the moment can be very hard, movement in your pattern is almost essential, especially if you can't get under a flight line.

There are loads of magnets around, depending on your pocket, get the best you can afford. In truth, even the nastiest cheapest magnets will draw the birds in if a magnet is the flavour of the day! At the end of the day it just needs to spin two decoys or real birds around an axis. The better quality you go for though the lighter it will be, the more efficient (won't chew up your battery as easily), and it will last a lot longer. Our site sponsor does the better quality ones, cheaper ones can be found easily though, probably starting at round £60 including a battery.

A set of Eezy Wobblers or Springy sticks is a good investment at around a tenner. You put your shell decoys on these and the wind will rock'em about again adding movement and realism to your pattern.

A bouncer is relatively cheap as well and sometimes work fantastically well when the woodies don't want to play with the magnet. A lot of people would never go out without a bouncer or two.

Then there's a flapper, these can be very effective as well.

Loads of gear to choose from, loads to read on each type here on the forum using the search tab. Look at the decoying equipment on our sponsors site, and if theres something you don't understand just ask.....

Good luck

I bought my magnet from a PW member, its a ukshootwarehouse one, lightweight with hypa-flappers, the battery lasts all day no problem, and also came with dead bird cradles, have to say, you certainly notice a difference using one

friday morning me and my mate were out, and you could see the pigeon spotting the movement, turning and coming down to our deeks, the next day my mate went again, same spot, same deeks, plus a couple of bouncers, but no magnet, he phoned to say not a thing was coming down, all flying past at height,
