Royboy
Could anybody tell me about my Dads old webley ? He passed away 10 years ago so i cant ask him about it myself. Its a side by side double trigger and has the numbers 143201 just behind the trigger gaurd. Under the barrels it has 729 and i think there choked at 2 3/4s It also says 3 1/4 tons per square". Is it a 700 ? cheers Roy
seeker
My last WS had a serial number just under 14000 and was made in 1962 IIRC. 2 3/4" should be your chamber length and 3 1/4 tons sq" is the proof service pressure. As to model WS had 700, 701 and 702s: generally, the 700s were plainer with a neat engraving on each side..... they seemed to produce guns that varied in appearance and spec as well so it may be best to get someone who knows to look at it. Sorry I cannot be more helpful
