rad334
Hi everyone, I use a short wheelbase k reg vitara for shooting around the fields, mainly because our navara spends more time getting stuck than actually moving offroad! I fitted diamond tires and it really impressed me where it would go, then I fitted a Lockrite diff imported from the states from a chap called Rob Storr and now you just cant stop it. The diff cost me 180 quid but I collected it from him. I think he has a website, the company is called RS manufacturing. The difference it makes is unreal, it does make a few funny noises and feels like its going to pull you through the hedge on the road, but if its just for shooting or offroading I'd advise anyone to give them a try. Has anyone ever used one before?
mr lee
Never used one but I would be interested in seeing how it performs long term.
RC45
I had a SWB vitara. I have had many 4x4's and I never got stuck in the Vitara. Keep an eye on the exhaust, mine broke at the back box and then melted the light cluster.
webber
RAD My son has a highly modified Vitara and does some serious off road stuff. He also fitted the diffs to which you refer. May I please utter a few words of caution. The diffs are fine off road, no problem. However, please be cautious when driving the vehicle on road as you may well have an undesirable experience when attempting to negotiate roundabouts. webber
king cj
yup, had them fited front and rear on my jeep and were fantastic. on the road they take a bit of getting used to in a swb truck, i had free wheeling hubs on the front axle so unlocked them for road use otherwise it would be a big no no for road use! rear axle is fine tho. i had the power trax version called the no spin, basicaly the same but with a few extra thrust washers to make it less bangy

I only have the rear diff done at the moment but may well do the front at somepoint. Has your son had any problems with his diffs, I was told they will last as long as a standard diff.
