Lloyd90
Well its beaters day today. I have been unable to do much beating this season as I have been either working or didnt have a car available So anyway my mate phoned me last night and asked If I wanted to beat on Beaters day. Having not had a days beating yet I jumped at the chance Will be taking Skye along for her first time . Atm she hunts well, has put up a few wild pheasants, snipe and woodcock when out walking, will come sit and go left n right on hand signals. Although only ever when out with just me, so to be honest I think once she sees all the other dogs n gets excited all that might go out the window haha! Shes only 8 months though, thought Id give her the last day of the season to see what she can do Hoping she'll do me proud. N if not atleast all the proper guns wont be there Wish me luck. Will post how it went later

Lloyd90
She did me proud. Chuffed to bits Before I went I was a bit skeptical and worried she'd show me up or go nuts, especially since she loves playing with other dogs. At first she was a bit playful and she wasn't 100% obedient and ran around a little lol but end of the day she was well behaved 95% of the time. Didnt bother the other dogs much when working and put in her fair share of the work. Only had 7 dogs in the line so no going easy for the first timers. We were relied on to cover our bit. All in all we put about abou8t 10-12 birds between the dogs. Skye put up 3 of them Bloody good day. She was loving it the first half, working with enthusiasm n energy. The second half she was alot slower mind and walked alot more think she was knackered. Did 3 drives then finished. Will be training with a Pro through the summer now so next season should be brilliant. Very pleased with her, did me proud
