border Scott
I could do with a bit of advice please. I want to start doing a bit of decoying on a very tight budget. I have about 12 full body decoys and a few crow decoys. My brother is making me a rotary thingy with a windscreen motor but i dont have the hide yet. If i buy a net off ebay for about twenty five quid can i just make my own poles. Ive just bought a new gun and with the fishing ticket to pay the misses is going to have a fit if i spend anymore. cheers Scott sorry if this is a stupid question
utectok
I use the green poles from homebase or somewhere £2 each or something or wilkinsons have some telescopic clothes poles real cheap and good also (green). A few plastic clamps from the hardware store 4 for £8 or something this is as good a setup as your going to need I reckon. Ohh and a couple of cheap cammo nets some cord for guys if it's windy and a £4.99 festival/folding garden chair to sit on and most important a copy of john batley(sp) pigeon shooting book ! THEINVISIBLESCARECROW
If your budget is tight why buy a net ? Lean against the trunk of a sitty tree. Find a depression in a hedge. Trim a space in a bramble patch. With DPM you can stand in front of holly & dissapear. Nets in many circumstancies can & do help. Don't rely on them though. I can get cam nets through my work. They're not brand new but I save them from being skipped. Free if you can collect.
stubby
I made my hide from washing line props from wilkinsons, and some angle iron brackets and ex army netting, totalled around £36 http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl...26112009331.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl...26112009334.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y29/eastl...01122009340.jpg

daddypigsaw
I have a mate who is a Scout leader. He let me have a bunch of spare fibreglass poles from tents that had been damaged. They disassemble easily, they're very flexible/strong and not too heavy to carry. Combined with a stealth net from the 'bay, it's quite an effective setup.
