fatjoe
hi guys has anyone had any dealings with a loc8tor tracking system as i was wondering if anyone had considered using one as a ferret finder, i spoke to maxine at loc8tor uk today regarding the ranges of the trackers underground and she says that a good 8-10 ft is possible underground and 400 ft in direct line of sight how many ferreters will dig a ferret out after the 8 ft mark, is 8ft more than enough or is a deben the only real option obviously at £45 the price is very attractive compared with the deben at £140 your thoughts please gents joe
Cranfield
I have seen one of those, a friend has it on his cat, I thought the transmitter on the cats collar was a bit big to go on a ferret, but it would be worth a try. It certainly works well above ground.
Teal
I heard about these last year, I don't know if they have changed but back then the opinion was that they don't work too well underground. Above ground its a different story. If you keep an eye on ebay you can get some good deals on mk3 ferret finders but you have to be patient. It's coming up to a good time of year for getting ferreting stuff cheap as the season begins to draw to a close once more.
