countryman
ok i have had my Beretta Teknys now for about 6 months and i am still way off with it. Crossers are not good and going away targets seem almost impossible. I still shoot an over and under which i have to say i am much more comfortable with and get relitively good scores. It is just that i have always fancied a semi but it just feels like i am pointing a rifle in the air. I have pattern tested it today and i am shooting to where i am aiming. Am i doing something wrong here? or am i just not suited to it? I dont think i am being consistant when im missing, i.e not always undernieth. Thanks Chris

Spaniel
To be honest i have O/U and a semi and i dont find much difference in using either one to be honest. The O/U is a SP3 (Pheasants and Clays) and the Semi is an Escort (Wildfowling and Pigeons) cant say i noticed any thing in lead etc between the two of them
BlaserF3
Re; the auto, is the sight picture the same as your O/U? If not why not change shims so that it is, it's not the gun that's really at fault it just needs adjusting to raise the comb a bit.
throdgrain
Sorry, but you just can't keep swapping from one gun to the other and expect to get good scores. Stick with one for a least a couple of months, and things will improve
BigG
As above it takes time to get 'into a gun' get a coach to have a quick look at the gun fit. Semi auto are a bit light in the hands so could be too much gun movement? Rgds G
mfrcus
Well i actualy shot a lot better today than recently ,my problem is not the gun its me i'm just a bad shot I,ve figured out a few things i'm doing wrong so hopefully i can work on them .Basicaly i leave the clays to long & aim a lot but when i don't think about i tend to hit more .I've just got to get this drilled into my thick skull .In my defence i am self taught & so a few lessons when i can afford them is on the cards .cheers marcus
jackinbox99
Sorry, but you just can't keep swapping from one gun to the other and expect to get good scores. Stick with one for a least a couple of months, and things will improve Exactly. My first gun i took clay shooting was a beretta urika, and i got really good with it. 24 or 25 out of 25. After a few years i fancied an o/u as i was the only one at the club using a semi, so i bought one. Found it such hard work. It weighed twice as much as the semi and i was so much slower on the targets. Got used to it in the end, but im still not as good as i am with the semi. At end of the day, it doesnt matter what gun it is, you need to get used to it. I liked the semi cos its light, had hardly any recoil and i could get on targets quick. COACH
A lesson with a good coach will sort you out. It sounds like the sight picture as BlaserF3 says , a bit of shim adjustment will put it right and the coach should do the rest. But when you go out after the tuition do exactly as he/she taught you not what you use to do or you`ve wasted his/her time and your money.
