JRDS
Buy some Burris bases and rings, they are superb and are rock solid.

Devilishdave
I am picking up a remmy 700 on friday in .243. What should I expect to pay for the mounts and rings? Dave
henry c
I'd use nothing but pro-mounts they are available in many sizes/ types and are very secure, to prevent recoil of the rifle affecting zeroing. they should be around £ 25-30 but are exelent. Devilishdave
The guy in the shop seemed to think the rings would be about £60!! Is he taking the ****? Dave

Dunkield
Dave, They can be that much, it depends how good they are. I just bought a set for my CZ and they were 40 quid, but I paid £70 for the Optilock rings and bases for my Tikka (they are stainless so cost £10 more)
JRDS
If you want to buy **** then you won't pay alot. Burris are a quality make and quality costs, £70 or so is not alot when you consider most machine shops charge betweeen £50 - £100 pounds for labour alone.
