  1. I think it's a bit misleading, as if you're shooting a shot size bigger, it's bound to hit hard.
  2. Sorry guys, now sold to Bob (3xSpringer).
  3. Sorry guys I can't RFD as there's no RFD near me, so would be a pain. Face to face only.
  4. Yes please I would like these. PM sent for payment details. Many thanks
  5. Hi, You need to get the specific Subsonic cartridges such as Eley "Hushpower Subsonic". Standard cartridges break the sound barrier, which causes a lot of the noise. You'll be amazed at the difference.
  6. Hahah, I knew you'd all like that one!
  7. I think Its a Weasel, Stoats have a black tip on the end of the tail. And apologies for the below, Q. What's the difference between a stoat and weasel? A. A Weasel is weasily wecognised and a stoat is stoataly different!
  8. These links should help, may have to copy and paste into browser... http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/j/jackdaw/ http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/r/rook/index.aspx http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/birdguide/name/c/carrioncrow/ May I suggest that you try observing these birds before shooting to ensure you don't shoot something you shouldnt! Obviously the rules of the general licence apply to these species too.
  9. He certainly isn't, He eats live snakes for one...

    Silica Gel

I am selling some big 550 gram bags of Silica Gel - perfect for the gun cabinate, to prevent moisture / condensation which can cause rusting and pitting. They measure 5 1/2 inches X 9 1/2 inches, so will more than adequately take care of moisture in the cabinate. £6 including postage.
  11. I can see your point, It must be extremely frustrating. The arrogance comment was not an attack on you personally, just the impression I got when I first visited, quite a few years ago.
  12. It is a shame to hear of your redundacy, however it comes as no supprise it is closing down. Despite being my local gun shop I have only been in twice. As previously stated the prices were rediculous, 3" .410 was £8.70 a box!!! last time I was in (about a year ago) they also wanted £50 off me just to recieve a gun sent from another RFD, not supprisingly I went elsewhere. I also found the staff arrogant and not very customer focused, easier and kinder on the pocket to go elsewhere, despite travelling further. As the only gunshop in Reading, they should of been raking it in but they simply priced themselves out of the market.
  13. I did the same thing. They're just the same cartridge but re-branded. Seem to do the job anyway
  14. Great pic, never seen one either. How big are they? Plover sized?
  15. i'll second that on the 50 gram 2 shot
  16. Gamebore Buffalo 42gram 3 shot are pretty good in my oppinion.
  17. Some of the best pics I've seen on here! Well done!
  18. The one I made is just a sprung door, set off by a pedal at the rear of the cage. Its just a scaled up squirrel trap really.
  19. Bleeh, If everyone used the search function for every question, it may as well be called 'Pigeon Watch Encyclopedia'.Surely the point of a forum is to discuss topics? As for getting rid of the mink, a baited cage trap works well as this is effectively hunting all day & night. These can be purchased online from a number of suppliers or you can make one out of weld-mesh (which I did) it which works well for squirrels and rats too. Ideally you need to locate the trap in an area where the mink are active, they tend to stick to the same path so look for runs in the grass, hairs caught on fences etc. If you place the trap baited with fish / eggs or meat, near one of these runs you should have some sucess. Remember also that it is a legal requirement to check the trap every 24 hours. If you wish to shoot them instead, they seem to be most active at dawn, so try waiting in range of a well used run and stay alert. They can be quite large so 5 or even 4 shot is best on them if using a shotgun. Hope this helps.
  20. Calm down, I meant smell. In my experience, new shiny traps wont catch as well as older dirty ones.
