KillStone
i went to a farmers door today asking if i could shoot some pigeons on his rape (there are hundreds of em on a fairly small field-perfect!) anyhow we got talking and he was telling me why he is a bit cautious of anyone asking to shoot his land. he said that 1 fella was shooting pigeons and when he went down to see how he was getting on he found that the person had shot around a dozen pheasants and a couple brace of wild duck! this was enough to get him an instant ban and rightly so. then he was saying that he gave another pigeon shooter permission to take out any canada geese that should fly over him provided that he (the farmer) gets a bird if any are shot, thisw shooter was caught out having shot a goose but for some reason kept it without offering it to the farmer. Is it just me that finds this disgraceful, another case of the minority ruining it for the majority of us as this proves. Hopefully i will get a chance to prove myself to this farmer but has anyone else had any experiences of this sort of thing? Bit of a rant but it made me really angry!!! MerseaDavid
That is not good mate I hope you can show him that we are not all like them shooters I have not hered of anything like that from farmers, alot of land we have shot over had other shooters that used to shoot the land but they would only turn up when they felt like it so once we started the others were stopped because we would be there each week. Paddy Galore!
seems daft to me, getting permissions can be hard work, it should be easy, but with guys like that it's no wonder farmers are wary. My local farmer wont let anyone shoot on his land for reasons such as this. really pees me off cos my other permissions are about an hours drive away.
