inthedark
Larsen trap is the most efficient, and will get them all. Nip round to your nearest keepered shoot and ask him to show you what to do. It'll take an hour and a bottle of Jamesons. Good luck. The other stuff on here is all good fun, but it sounds like you need a job doing. The box of matches works a treat, and I'm going to give the teddy a go. BTW, anyone got a spare teddy? HDAV
So what about digital fox callers? Assuming the magpies are vermin in this case (as opposed to game birds) i can't see how you can use an electronic fox caller and not a recording? Beardo
foxes aren't birds, only birds that are covered in the general license conditions

Paul223
Larsen trap is by far and wide the easiest way, bait it up with a piece of ply on top and some bread / eggs with trap doors closed for a few days until the bait is going regularly, then open both (all) doors and bait in side, works a treat, if you find a local keeper using a larsen then ask to swap birds with him to get them really going
bagpuss
After reading about the teddy bear attracting magpies & crows, I have acquired one. Can someone just explain how to get the best results from using it. That is where to place it, in a tree, on the ground etc etc do you use decoy crows & magpies with it etc etc. Edited February 24, 2010 by bagpuss
