dapper
Hi guys, I wanted to clean the reciever part. The bit that is metal and has the engraving on. I have a slight bit of rust comming on to it. Its only a cheap gun but I like and I wanted to look after it. What would you advise woyld be best to use and where could I get it from. Just been looking on a site in the US, would you use fine wire wool with oil? Think I might give that a try. Many thanks Dave Edited February 20, 2010 by dapper

Tin Man Work
I use a fibreglass pen to shift rust like that and give it a wipe with an oily cloth afterwards. If you've not seen one this is what I use: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIBREGLASS-PEN--FIBR...231d4f1ffd4400a Keep the exposed fibreglass bristles short out of the nib and you can scrub away to your hearts content - the bristle wear down so you wind the end and hey presto more are extended. Good thing is that they don't abrade metal but will lift off any rust or similar in a couple of strokes - keep the tip away from oil though when you use it.
