Chris Bb
Say I'm looking at a Miroku MK 38. They come in different grades, 1, 3 & 5. So, daft question, what's the difference? Looks (from on-line pictures) like smoother better woodwork and more complicated engraving but are there mechanical or other differences? Will a grade 5 make me shoot better than a grade 1? Will it last longer? Will it be mechanically "better" and, if so, how? Also, prices seem to increase by a couple of hundred pounds per grade increase so a grade 5 can be some 40% more expensive than a grade 1, apart from "looking good" is it worth it or is it just "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"? BlaserF3
Mechanically they are identical but the grade 5 is a lovely looking gun. I was in a gun shop recently which had a grade 1,3,and 5 for sale but as far as I was concerned the grade 1 felt more responsive. Which ever one you buy it will last you a lifetime if you maintain it well. A secondhand gun will not lose too much money if you keep it a few years. steve_b_wales
I once owned a Browning GTi Grade 5. The wood was stunning. It didn't make me shoot any better though but it was a pleasure to look at and own. In the eleven years that I owned it, I only 'lost' £440 when I part exchanged it for a rifle. clutey
Yes as above. What you're paying the extra for is the better quality wood and engraving.
