activeviii Posted February 23, 2010 Report Share Posted February 23, 2010 sounds like rape, when you split the crop open you will get a mustardy cabbage sort of smell from the rape. i have been flight shooting them with the dog and i thought he was biting into them as they came back with crops split open. i went a retrieved a few myself only to find the crops were split so it looked like the popped from the shot or when crashing into the floor or both.
