Hi Guys,

I have just applied for my FAC and I am really intersted in Target shooting.

I already belong to a target club who will be supporting my application so I dont see an issue.

So I am on the look out for a .22 rimfire Match rifle with rear sights for Bench, free standing rifle.

Anschutz or similar.

Well its Anschutz or Anschutz really. If you want a good rifle thats a fraction of the cost go for a BSA Martini International MkV. Just as good many would say but not a fashionable choice any more. However, because of that you can pick one up for around £100-150 It will shoot a lot better than you can and it won't break the bank. There were quite a few still being used last year at the NSRA meeting At Bisley this year, and they are top level shooters.

By the time you decide you want to upgrade you will have a better idea of what you want next. A new Anschuz is going to cost around £1,600 and even secondhand they still fetch over £1,000 depending on age and model. There are so many different models you are not likely to choose well in any case.

My advise is buy a BSA and learn to shoot first, worry about the rest in a few years time.

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the detailed reply. <_<

Yes at that moment I will purchase a used rifle. I have been attending the club for just about 12 months now.using a standard CZ bolt action rifle. Getting good results too.

Cheers

Dave
