flash
its not a smelly, its the target version with only half of the front wooden furniture, dad bought for £80 a couple of years ago and is worth a bit more now but 7.62 is a bit big for foxes. jonno 357
Flash Are you wanting an Enfield No 4 action converted to take the 223 rem ? Don't quite understand your question ? Pete Sarony of Armalon builds this calibre around the No 4 action Have a look on his website http://www.armalon.com/pc.shtml I have used the Armalon rifle in pistol calibre 357mag many years ago They cost a **** load of money. I bit more than £80. Pete Sarony sells his conversion for near a grand Jonno
flash
thanks, if its gonna cost near enough a grand to convert it then i will either just buy a 223 or the foxes may be facing a bit of over kill, may be a bit noisy though,a silencer is needed and a big one at that i guess. got any suggestions as to what to go for, up to about £
dunganick
and you are very unlikely to get a 7.62 cleared for use on vermin and foxes the only way you could is if it was for use on foxes whilst stalking for deer which is not a very good arrangement
flash
would shooting deer on sandhurst and other military grounds while acting as a MOD deer manager convince them to allow me and my dad to use it on foxes.
dunganick
depends if they deem it a suitable callibre in your area lots of constabularies (sp?) are getting very fussy about letting people with large fullbore rifles take foxes. just give the basc a ring and ask. not sure about the accuracy of the enfield even with a scope, maybe good enough for stalking, but foxing? anyway, not my buisness, give the basc a ring, they are always very helpful
flash
would it be worth getting a variation so i can get a .17hmr instead for the foxes as it is a bit more suitable
dunganick
if you want a pure foxing gun, the 223 you are after will do the job just fine hmr is a little small for foxes, but still able to do the job none the less.
sandy22
If you handload or know someone who does I'd imagine it would be possible to concoct some light-bullet loads that would do this job much better than ordinary hunting, match or ball ammo.
