I have the .223 T3 Lite Stainless with a cut barrel, but it is 1-8.

It handles everything I have put through it from 40-75g, I haven't found a round it hates yet!

Just the same the only way you are going to find out what works in yours is to try a few types/weights/brands!

ATB!

are you happy with the tikka t3"""

would you recommend one'as said it's my first centerfire.

I have the T3 Lite and the T3 Hunter.

Both shoot straight but the HUNTER that you mentioned is the winner by far! :)

Personal view of course!

What length barrel is the one you are looking at, do you plan on a moderator?

I have one - cracking gun - cant fault it in any way - i only shoot RWS through it and it puts 1/4 inch groups at 100yars no probs. The only thing i'm changing in the near furture is the T8 i have on it - it'll be changed to a Jet-z compact...

i think the one i looked at had a 22inch barrel, and will be getting a wildcat mod as you can take apart for cleaning.

i think the one i looked at had a 16inch barrel, and will be getting a wildcat mod as you can take apart for cleaning.

Normal barrel length for the Hunter is around 22.5", the factory cut and threaded versions are now coming in with around 20" barrels.

16" is a special cut on the T3 Hunter .223, if it that short you will not get a P8 on it, as it will contact the stock, but I would strongly suggest the Predator 8 COMPACT anyway, and this may just fit as well. (although it will need checking first) :good::yes:

thanks for all your replies.

just been around to the shop, only 500yards up the road, which comes in handy.

talked to the organ grinder, not the monkey.

told 22inch not 16

1-12 not 1-8.

just spent 3 days lookin at load data for a 1-8.

again,thanks for replies,got me thinking.

lucky shop's just up the road.

I bought a tikka t3 hunter in .223 1-12 twist as my first centre fire it has a 20" barrel, factory threaded and i hand load (25.5gr of h335 with a 50gr v-max at 2.243"oal) and it will put 5 shots touching at 100yards everytime and my best is 3 shots into the same hole, i rate them highly and you wont be disapointed.

Both in the same calibre

.223 Lite

.243 Hunter

...and the other is a Rem 700 in .308

EDIT...All have the P8 Compact fitted, as you can see!! The extra tube you can see top tight is from the full length P8 and shows how much longer (and heavier) it makes the mod.

thanks all again

what mod do you recomend""

being new.

wonder why sak, dont do mod in this cal,or do they"""price reasond's

Well...fairly obviously I think the P8 Compact is OK!

I make no suggestion it is the best in the world but it offers a package I can live with!

Price, moderation, weight, spare parts, cleaning, etc, etc, it does for me!

Most will suggest the one they have..:lol::lol::no:

Edit...and it has baffle stacks available in a very wide range of calibre sizes :lol:

You say £215 a steal - £215 is daylight robbery for a sound moderator - they are not hard to make, and there are some serious margins going on here. Wildcat aren't any worse than the rest of them, but moderator pricing takes the **** in a big way!

a steal compared to the t8 which is a sealed unit. and the wildcat is much better crafted than t8 imo. when you think about time and materials you will use making it yourself would it not be easier and cheaper to just buy one?:D
