spence
Apology for the first real post being a "what gun?" and a bit long. Some history, I shot for about 12 years but stopped 5(ish) ago, sold gun and most of my kit. I'd moved up through a Franchi (28 FC), Classic Double (30 MC) to a new (then) Browning 425 (32 MC). Now fancy having another go, I've received a new certificate so now on the lookout for a gun with a budget of £500 (ish). I'm getting the same story from a number of shops, second hand market is strong with a lack of guns in my range. New stuff static. Don't know if that's true all over of just around here. Anyway amongst others I've seen two Mirokus. One a 6000 with a PY (82) date code but looks a feels (tight, no slop) like new for £795 (£700) and a MK38 dated MM (00) for £600 also feels good but has some colour ware to the barrel ends. Now the issues with MK38 is it's a trap stock with sporting (Browning) barrels and a tulip type forend. Both come up well and are fairly flat. Is the 6000 a bit old? And any thoughts on the MK38, would there be any resale/trade-in problems in the future? Cheers. Spencer Ps, sorry there's gonna be a few more of these............................ tweedledee
i would reckon the older mirokus are some of the best guns ever built and will last 2 lifetimes.
COACH
The 6000 is better built but has a lower combe.
night owl
go for the 6000 if needed you can fit a adjustable comb <not a stick on one > any gun smith should be able to do it at a low price i had mine done plus the internal workings of the 6000 are the best and will always keep a good value even when the gun is ca put can post a pic if you like
CharlieT
The 6000 is the one to go for, I have shot one for more years than I can remember. Would not swap it for the world.
Dougie
Miroku 6000 every time, had one years ago, always felt tight, wish I'd never sold it, bought a Winchester 101 multi choke, soon went loose!!!
tweedledee
the 101s would always feel loose.

spence
tweedledee, why do you say that? You've answered that they're a good gun in my other post.
tweedledee
they are a good gun make no mistake.if you handle any winchester 101 the action feels loose. not a fault it`s just how they are.
