  1. Check your house policy, it will cover peddle cycles just need to check what their maximum is without specifying. Typically can be between 500 & 1500. Just renewed mine with the AA and listed a specified mountain bike with a value of £4800 only added £23 to the premium.
  2. All this talk of certificates and insurance, I'm a little confused. Never received one in the last 26 years of having the chimney swept twice a year. Also never had an insurance company ask about even having a chimney or not; renewed ours this week and just looked through the policy documents and the word chimney isn't even mentioned.
  3. Ooo, I can join in with this. My old faithful, 5-Spot after its recent £1000 refresh Everyday Felt The back-up On-One And a stupid road bike
  4. Yes. Go for a set of SPD's (you'll need shoes as well) you won't regret it. But don't get the mudguards.
  5. Agree with most of the advice, second hand at this level will give best value re frame/fork/brakes but be prepared to spend some money. Fork will probably need a service - diy or send to someone like TF Tuning - new pads and probably drive train. Remember always replace the chain, cassette and rings at the same time otherwise it'll all slip. Spech Hardrock/Roackhoper were always the default answer for a good entry level bike but as said I think you can add Cube to that now. If you really want new, try and up the budget a bit. Frame and forks are the most important as all the rest of the components are consumables and will need replacing at some time - upgrade time. Look for something with a RockSox XC fork, far better than a Suntour. Shimano groupsets are fine even at this price point. For brakes, look for hydro's, cables do work but not well and for very long in comparison. Maybe Avid 1's for Deore's. I know some people poopoo Avid but I've not had an issue with a set of 3's on a cheap Felt, Hope man really. Not sure where you are but if you can get yourself to Belfast or Ballyclare check out the ChainReactions stores. However, whatever bike you get, remember get out on the trails and have fun. It can be quite addictive but also expensive, the tyres I've just put on the Turner cost more than those for my daughters car!
  6. Come on guys............................... John Henry Bonham.
  7. Rates in the top ten uses of the F word apparently, but still a great film. The interaction between the two leads in the down time between the action is very clever.
  8. Just got into a Phoenix hotel room and flicking through the channels caught a small feature on ESPN. A Quarterback frowning a "football" at a clay, 0.37 of a second release at 47mph and was hitting 4 out of 5 regularly. Odd stuff on US telly.......
  9. You can take something back for me PTEC headlamp, purchased in the Baltimore store back in May, switch bust soon after coming home

    Top gear

Was very poor. Interesting one of the writers posted an apology on twitter.
  11. I picked up one of these http://www.exposurelights.com/product/000079/joystick-mk.6/ over the holiday period as an additional light, you'll need the headband accessory. Excellent beam for what it is and has a USB charger (car, desktop etc) if you've forgotten to mains charge.

    insurance

http://www.talkford.com/forum/716-4x4-ranger-maverick-and-explorer-forums/ If you go up and down a couple of levels there's insurance talk.
  13. Well it wasn't too bad after all, went down the A286 and only took an extra half hour overall, in Sainsbury's for breakfast before 9. Coming home was a different story but that was the M25, over 2 hours from A3 to M1! Bloody road. Lots of interesting stuff heading towards the FoS. Anyone going enjoy.

    car tax

The best you get is "You will have an extra five working days to display your old tax disc if you tax your vehicle online or by phone on or before 30 June 2011" from the V11 Renewal reminder.
