monkeyboots
just like to ask what price people think is a fair price to pay to join a rough shooting club that release 1000 birds and a duck pond avaiable as well, my mate and me are thinking of sharing a gun the price to join is £900 so would cost us £450 each thats with every thing all in feed etc and we just have to turn up on shoot day to shoot as there is a man who does all the feeding etc is this a fair price
Silhouette
How often do you get to shoot?

GW80
Seems a bit steep, is this a joining fee and then it's reduced after the first season. I had the chance to join another syndicate this season, it was £500 for the year with 1000 pheasant, lots of snipe and woodcock and would have been able to shoot vermin all year, i turned it down because it was quite a drive. Is it only walked up shooting or is it driven?
monkeyboots
there is no bag limit and every saturday from october till end of jan. its a walked up shoot plus snipe woodcock etc think the price is up this year cos they have done extra work this year a couple of xtra pens etc and this year they are working with day old poults where in the past they where releasing ex layers
GW80
Another way to look at it is if you shoot every shoot day, and work on the basis of roughly 18 shoot days, it works out roughly £50 a day which isn't too bad for a days shooting! At least you have no worries about feeding duties, do you have any work days to attend or is all the shoot duties looked after by the keeper? monkeyboots
the man who runs the shoot does all the work as i say all we do is turn up and shoot plus we get to shoot over are own dogs
GW80
If the boy running the shoot can gaurantee birds towards the end of january i'd go for it if it's local, between you and the mate it's on;py £25 a day and you get shooting over your own dogs. at the start seemed like a lot of dough but it's about the going rate now a days if your not coughing up for extra feed and work days!! I'd go for for it mate, good shooting is getting harder to find every year!!
