General shooting with a trap gun.

wouldnt make any difference m8 as long as u remember ur trap gun will be set up to shoot high ( higher than normal ) so just allow for this.

Some years ago top FITASC shooters were preferring 30" and 32" trap guns over the then normal 28" sporters because they had longer barrels and the high comb compensated for the slight drop on the shot load on rangy targets. Manufacturers then filled the fashion by making sporters with longer barrels so that today 30" is the norm.

The std trap barrels were 1/2 3/4 or 3/4 full ( or sometimes M/C on first barrel) in the trap guns, and top shooters often had teague conversions to get M/C on their trap guns.

I shoot an 1986 Perrazi MX2 American trap with a teague conversion on the 29 1/2" barrels from the period when trap gun conversions for sporting was popular, but actually prefer to use the 31 1/2" 1/2 3/4 barrels for all targets over 30yds - they a perfect.

Trap gun shooting on sporting can give excellent results, just get used to the slightly different sight picture.
