Drive By
I particularly enjoy watching people who scoff at defenders getting stuck and then asking for me to tow them out of the predicament they have got themselves into. Also dragging a brand new x-type up a slightly icy hill in January was a partivular treat. I don't enjoy other peoples misfortune but i do like occasionally being able to prove why defenders (mostly) enjoy a good and well earned positive reputation. George1990
They're still hand made to a degree, which is one reason. Also they are made out of nice big lumps of metal. If you compare different aged 90's you can see cost cutting as they get newer. Cheaper rear cross members, thinner con-rods etc. If you get an old series you can still get the thick aluminium body panels. They changed it to the thin stuff when they made the series III I think. Big boys toys are always expensive, just happens that Land-Rovers are the best
RC45
That's why I bought a Gaylander the 110 double cab pickup was out of my reach, for the equivalent year...
