Dan73
Got a day spare this week and I fancy my first days fly fishing this year. Looking locally, I'm quite close to Church Hill Farm in Mursley, Buckinghamshire. Anyone fish there? recently or in the past? I'm looking for tips/fly selection/lake selection Thanks all - will post how I get on there Dan73 Edit - failing that - anyone know about Summerfields Fishery in Haynes, Bedfordshire? - thanks Edited April 20, 2010 by Dan73
garyb
Do you know this one? It's local - http://redbournburyfishery.co.uk/default.aspx I've shot there, but never fished it.
al4x
been to the haynes one years ago its ok but is a bit like going to the fish mongers, the redbourne one is pretty pricy for two fish. Personally I'd go up to Grafham which isn't that far depending where you are in Beds / bucks decent prices and decent fish
Dan73
Hi Garyb - I've fished the Redbournbury fishery a few times - its a nice place and the owner pops in and makes you a cuppa around mid-morning, but its also quite 'easy' - the first time I went there, I was done in under 20 minutes. I'll be taking my 11 year old later this year for his first fly fishing lessons from me. Hi Al4x - I think I'll give Summerfields a go anyway, its only about 20 minutes or so drive for me. Grafham - well I'd love to have a crack on it, as thats only a bit further up the A1, but as I've only fished a Ressie (Pitsford) once, with a guide, I'm not too sure about such a large sheet of water on my own - I'm born and bred on small stillwaters and rivers. Cheers Danny
al4x
Grafham seems quite daunting at first but must say I've had good days off the dam which is very easily accessible, if you've a boat its even easier to get about. See what you make of Summerfields its years since i've been and as you say its pretty close.

I just called them and they were very helpful and 8 fish for £20 is very reasonable!! Will post how I get on Any one with any Grafham Bank fishing tips??? Thanks Al4x Danny
