Dog First Aid - and why it's so important

How many of you here work dogs, yet don't carry any form of First Aid for them?

Not a season goes by when you don't see some form of injury in the field... and yet very few, other than the top dog men seem to have the basic equipment on them, that could save your best friends life ?

Had my Springer out yesterday, he'd not been in cover for more than 10 minutes when blood started to pour out of his paw.

Glad I had the necessary to patch him up, before I could get him in the vets this morning.

A few stitches and a very drunken springer - but he'll be ok!

Could have been a lot worse...

Do your best friend a favour and put together a small kit that you can carry in your game bag / pocket.

I bought one of these from Ebay, and added a few other items like Pliers / Dressing etc. ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=250617806845 ) and it lives in my gamebag even when training.

Although, what use is an old ice cream tub size box? when the beaters waggon / landrover / car is 500 yards away ?

Keep it in your pocket / bag!
