its no good ringing lads...the farmer would be happier to see you face to face.... by ringing ..he don't know who he is talking too

I know its off putting getting knockbacks..but keep trying..one day..someone will say yes..i got my 1st two weeks ago..right place right time

but i was lucky enough to be invited with friends

get yourself down the young farmers clubs and mingle mingle mingle,

i got my first permission on a paddock friend of a friend but was air rifle only, then i spoke to the farmer next door one day and he had seen me about with the air rifle and asked me on his land and soo on and soo on..

take a copy of your licence and insurance write your details on them and knock on there doors when you meet him/her be mr super polite and hand them your certs even if they seem un interested and somthing will happen.

just keep trying.

maybe join a syndicate or club if you can afford it.

Nice to hear someone from Wigan -my old home town. I started my shooting career wildfowling at Scottie's Flash as a lad - don't think you could get away with it these days! Ringing farmers is not productive, I find that getting out while their working the fields and asking then is the best approach. One yes in ten no's is a good ratio. Good luck! :good:

Knocking on doors face to face is the only way! The farmer will want to see who you are and judge your character. If you can go out one day and drive around every farm and keep asking alls they can say is no but eventually you will get yes, and if your lucky they will pass you onto a friend who has pest problems. But make sure you are insured by someone like the NGO or :good: BASC and mention that to the farmer.
