  6. I currently dont have my firearms/shotguns where I am living while waiting for my renewal to be finished. I have recently leased some land on the border of stirlingshire and perthshire. The farmers barley, wheat etc are being hammered by crows/pigeons and he is desperate for me to try and reduce the impact. If you have a spare shotgun for me to use while on the farm that would be great but not a problem if not. Is anyone interested in some free crow/pigeon shooting any day of the week after 5:30 and any weekend. PM if interested
  7. I have just leased some land in Perthshire and unfortunately I don't have my Firearms/Shotguns as waiting for a renewal down in England before I move them up here. The Farmer is concerned as his barley fields are being hammered by crows with occasional pigeons. I know its short notice but this weekend would be useful to appease the farmer, if not this weekend anytime in the week after 5:30 or the following weekend. I would also have to be present, so anyone who would like to come up and has a spare shotgun for me to use ( I will pass some cash for cartridges). Any form of insurance e.g. BASC, SGA, NGO etc and a dog may be useful for retrieving.
  8. I have just moved up to Dunblane for my new job and would like to get back into my deer stalking with a bit of lamping foxes from time to time. I havent been shooting for around a year due to University studies but I have a lot of experience in varies counties up and down the country. I never used to have a problem going up to a farmer and asking about shooting, although I seem to have lost my nack on asking a farmer for permission. I am mainly being put off as most of the farms seem to be estate owned which i gathered from all the farms having red doors, gutters etc or either forestry commission plots everywhere. I have my DSC 1, insurance etc. Any advice on asking permission in a new unknown area??
  9. I'm currently in the states, they have them in most calibers, I was using them in a friends 9mm look lethal pistol rounds. Should imagine they are similar to vmax etc. they are cheap as hell over here, forgot my fac license so can't bring any bullet heads back. But they are $20 for 100 heads in!

  16. Personally, I think filters are a waste of time. In my experience a lamp shy fox, is a lamp shy fox. Just have to try and out smart the lamp shy fox. We had one that would sit in the same place every night, on top of a hill with no back stop like it knew and wouldn't budge. But if you got anywhere closer with the lamp it would bolt. Eventually we left the lamp on it at the vehicle and I walked right around the farm so I was parallel to it and shot it in the neck. Although it is quite difficult to find it when your not directly behind the lamp but when you do its clear as day its a fox.
  17. Ask permission on farms there is tonnes of deer on local farms, thats what I did and had tonnes of deer stalking.
  18. I thought they had changed it that all forces could accept email notifications. I have done it several times.
  19. Agreed, a wary fox is a wary fox fancy equipment wont work any better.
  20. I have had both a semi Ruger (10/22) and my current .22 a CZ silhouette bolt action. I loved plinking away at rabbits with the semi but even with a moderator and subs, the action cycling makes a loud noise which at night seems to amplify and echo around scaring any rabbits in the vicinity. So I swapped it for the CZ which is extremely quiet with a SAK moderator on, I definitely have a higher success rate with the CZ due to lower noise levels also they are better built than rugers. I had a lot of issues with my ruger close to the end but that was due to the cocking level spring being ******** after like 2000 rounds. I am starting to look into acquiring a .17 hmr but I have been put off up to now due to ammunition prices.
