ptrangmar
HI I HAVE A LNBER AND THE BLOODY THING WILL NOT FIRE THE SHELLS I AM WELL PEED OFF LOL I HAVE HAD A LOOK AT THE ACTION AND THE HAMMERS DONT SEEN TO BE HITTING THE FIRING PINS ANY ONE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PLEASE HELP CHERS Ist thing are the primers being dented at all? If they are. Check the headspace ( take off the barrels and insert cartridges, Then check with a rule to see if the cartridge brass is flush with the barrel face. The cartridges maybe too far in for the strickers to fully do their job. I have had this problem before on guns and have had to machine and add shims to the extractor rim space to bring the cartridge back. If there is not a headspace problem, then it will be some sort of binding. perhaps the stricker return spring are broken and jamming, or they have become worn somewhere along the length of them. They are usually struck at an angle and so tend to wear a bit on one side, which eventually developes into a ridge. All I can suggest without looking at it. Cheers. Phil. bruno22rf
Were both barrels working and then neither?-at the sam time?-on the early lanbers the cocking link (on the forend) could come loose and move fowards-this is connected to the hammers and could prevent them falling all the way-cock the gun and fire it with the forend off-any difference? wabbitbosher
HI I HAVE A LNBER AND THE BLOODY THING WILL NOT FIRE THE SHELLS I AM WELL PEED OFF LOL I HAVE HAD A LOOK AT THE ACTION AND THE HAMMERS DONT SEEN TO BE HITTING THE FIRING PINS ANY ONE HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE PLEASE HELP CHERS Have you had it long ? Cock it , then put snap caps in , Dry Fire it with Snap caps in ,( is it single trigger or double? if its single trigger you might need to select the second barrel or knock it to get the recoil activated second barrel to fire ) Does it go Click Click nice and loud ? if not then its a cocking fault, it could be 101 Problems I would sugest Not to go gung ho and try fixing things that you have No idea what you are doing, this could result in Serious problems, by serious i mean to You or bystanders or even serious to your Gun Your locks might be the rebounding type so once fired the hammers drop back to leave a gap so it will look like they didnt hit the strikers Let me know how you get on Wb
Hardwoods Green
Does the gun eject even when it hasnt been fired? If so it will be a broken cocking dog(sticky out bit at the back of the forend iron) common fault with Lanbers and Medallists
