Dr_T
Try googling 'laser rangefinders' I have a Bushnell Yardage Pro Scout I bought years ago. I use it for decoying to gauge the kill zone -45 yards and closer. Saves on the guesswork. They are not cheap though.
aaron airgunner
you can get a LRF (laser range finder) for about £86 at the cheapest. they tell you the precise distance you are from your target by sending out an ivisible beam which bounces offf whatever your pointing at and back into the rangefinder. it measures the time between the laser leaving the LRF and when it returns. they usually look like a monocular. kyska
I think the OP means with a gun mounted laser? Pretty easy, set your zero making sure the dot is exactly on the middle of the cross hair, then move you target towards and away from you and see where the dot rises or drops too, it'll still be a guess though. Ozzy Fudd
do you mean a laser range finder, or mounting a laser on your gun? if its mounting a laser then have the laser dead centre of the crosshairs at, say, 20 yards, anything over this the laser will be above/below the crosshairs, under it vice versa; ie if the laser is on top of your scope, under 20 yards it will be above the crosshairs, over it will be below them. not worth the effort though id say, too easy to spook stuff with the laser
